The New Testament sets forth a pattern of shared leadership within the context of the local church. 

Paul instructs Titus to carry on this pattern in Titus 1:5 - "This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you." (see also, Acts 14:23, 20:17).

Although very human, these men have demonstrated key evidences of grace as set forth in the New Testament to function in this important role as spiritual leaders (1 Tim 3, Tit 1, 1 Pet 5).

The Downtown Church follows the New Testament pattern that calls for a plurality of leaders to shepherd the flock of God.
